Privacy policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
RestaurantOps AI Inc., a Delaware corporation, doing business as Clockout ("we," "us," or "our"), operates the Clockout platform and related services, including the Clockout website at restaurantops.ai and the Clockout Admin iOS application. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at support@restaurantops.ai.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Personal information: name, email address, and phone number provided when you create an account or opt in to communications.
- Store and business information: store name, location, operating hours, and other operational details you provide.
- Usage data: information about how you interact with the platform, including feature usage, task management actions, and app interactions.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and browser type when you access our services.
- SMS-related data: phone number, opt-in and opt-out status, and message delivery data when you enroll in SMS notifications or when you submit your phone number during account setup to receive a verification code.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Clockout platform and services.
- Send task escalation alerts and operational notifications through our AI agent, Ro, via SMS and in-app messaging.
- Respond to your support requests and communications.
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the platform experience.
- Comply with legal obligations.
SMS communications
We send two types of SMS messages:
- Task escalation alerts: when you enable SMS notifications in the Clockout Admin iOS app, we collect your phone number to deliver task escalation alerts from our AI agent, Ro. These alerts notify you of urgent operational tasks that require your attention.
- Verification codes (account verification): we send one-time verification codes by SMS during account setup, and when you sign in with your phone number, to verify your identity. We collect your phone number directly from you: you enter it yourself in the signup flow and tap the "Send SMS code" button, and that action is your consent to receive a verification code at that number. The disclosure presented at that step is documented at meetclockout.com/sms-opt-in. Verification codes are transactional only — no marketing or promotional messages are sent under this program.
- Message frequency: task escalation alerts arrive approximately 2–3 times per day per store. Verification code frequency varies with your use, typically one message per verification attempt.
- No third-party sharing: this applies to all Clockout SMS programs, covering both task escalation alerts and account verification codes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
- Opt-out: you can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by disabling the "Enable SMS Notifications" toggle in the Admin iOS app. Note that replying STOP also blocks verification codes, which may prevent SMS-based sign-in, or completing account setup, until you opt back in.
- Data rates: message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: we share data with third-party providers who help us operate the platform, such as Twilio for SMS delivery and cloud hosting providers for infrastructure. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only as necessary to provide their services.
- Payroll and other optional services: some services, such as payroll, are delivered through third-party partners. When you enroll in one of these services, we ask for your consent separately and share with the partner only the information needed to deliver that service.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
Sharing is limited to what is necessary to operate and improve the Clockout service.
We do not sell your data
Clockout does not sell your personal information to third parties. We never have and never will.
Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion: you can request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Opt out of SMS: you can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP or disabling notifications in the app.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@restaurantops.ai.
Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
Governing law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
